  ITINERARIES

Day 01 Arrive Airport – Colombo (Approx. 50 mins)

  • On arrival at the Bandaranaike International airport, you will be warmly greeted by your very own chauffeur guide and transferred to Colombo. On arrival in the hotel, spend the day at leisure relaxing and enjoying the hotel facilities.
  • Evening city tour in Colombo
  • Spend overnight at a Hotel in Colombo on Bed & Breakfast basis.

 

You guide will give a small introductionabout the tour and start the walk. Along the way, you will explore a handful ofthe many lively streets that sell everything from textiles to electronics tospices. Hidden within these streets you will find yourselves coming up to theOld Dutch Museum where you can feast your eyes on the pristine architecture ofthe mansion that was built in the latter part of the 17th century and wasinitially the residence of Count August Carl Van Ranzow. Thereafter, you willproceed to the commercial hub of Colombo, Fort, where you will find anothercolonial gem, the Old Dutch Hospital; once a functional hospital during the17th century, the complex is now hostingto high-end restaurants, bars, and shops. Your host will stop here for adrink with you and give you time to admire this location but be warned that ifthe photographer's eye in your host seesthe possibilities of a spectacular sunset, you may be rushed through drinks sothat you will move on to the lighthouse just in time. The walk will come to anend at the historic Galle Face hotel, the oldest hotel east of the Suez, via ahalf kilometer walk along the Galle Face Green promenade that is usually busywith young and old alike.


Day 02 Colombo– Dambulla/ Sigiriya (Approx. 4 hrs drive)

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Pinnawala elephant orphanage is the place which bears the largest herdof captive elephants in the world. Known as the captive breeding place for wildAsian elephants, this orphanage provides the shelter to diseased, wounded anddisabled elephants since 1975. There are more than 80 elephants have gained theirbirth at Pinnawala elephant orphanage up to date. You can witness baby elephants& also adult elephants moving around freely without harming to anyone.

 

Dambulla Cave Temple

Dambulla Cave temple is one of the most impressive andwell-preserved cave temples in Asia. This complex contains five caves with over2000 sqm. of painted walls and ceilings. This emphasizes the artistic talentsof the people lived in this small island. Due to its artistic & archaeologicalvalues, Dambulla Cave temple has been listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.

 


Day 03 Dambulla/ Sigiriya- Polonnaruwa- Dambulla/ Sigiriya

SigiriyaRock Fortress

In the 5thcentury, King Kashyapa domesticated the Lions Rock, by building a palace atopits summit & well designed for its defenses by having ramparts and moatsbuilt around it. The Rock itself has its unique identity due to its shape notfound anywhere else on the island.

 

SigiriyaVillage Experience

This Villagetour begins with a short walk along to a man-made reservoir. This beautifulvillage is surrounded by scrub jungle, marshlands, and agricultural farms. Theamazing birdlife, butterflies and possible sightings of crocodile only add to thecharm of seeing the villagers as they go tasks of fishing, or washing clothesat the periphery of the lake. You will experience a boat ride, bullock cartride, rural vegetable cultivation and paddy fields.

 

Cycling at Ancient Cityof Polonnaruwa

Take acycling tour of one of the better kept ruins of ancient Ceylon - the UNESCOWorld Heritage City of Polonnaruwa, which was the medieval capital of SriLanka. You will be cycling about 10km on soft surfaces as you whizz between theruins. The ancient heart of Sri Lanka. An important royal capital with itswell-preserved 12th century ruins & impressive stone culture recalls aninspired past. Although nearly 1000 years old, it is much younger thanAnuradhapura and generally in better repair. The monuments are arranged in a reasonablycompact garden setting and their development is easier to follow.

 

Day 04 Dambulla/ Sigiriya – Kandy (Approx. 3 hrs and 30 min. drive)

Craft Village in Sigiriya

Thehandicrafts village in Sigiriya was established in 2003 and it has facilitiesfor maintenance of a number of various fields of handicraft. 48 stalls havebeen set up in this village for handicraftsmen. If you wish to buy authenticfabrics and other items of Sri Lanka, Step into the village and you will beexposed to various shops selling batiks, brass-works, ornamental pots, handloomtextiles, wood carvings and silver jewelry. Shopkeepers let the visitors to witness the craftwork of the craftsmenas well. Nice place to hang out for some time and buy a souvenir for the journey. 

 

Spice garden

Forcenturies, spices have been one of the most celebrated exports in Sri Lanka.They have been used for medicines, cosmetics as well as to flavor foods.History says that the Greeks, Arabs & Malays had linked with Sri Lankanbusiness field through spice trade. Spices provide ground for traditionalAyurveda.

Today afterbreakfast, you will be able to enjoy a Tuk-Tuk Challenge. Doing a city tour bya Tuk-Tuk is the most interesting and easiest way to enjoy the sightseeing inthe historical city of Kandy. Kandy, also Known as the hill capital or Hillcountry, is the last stronghold of Sinhalese kings after Portuguese, Dutch andBritish ruling periods. To the Buddhists of Sri Lanka and the World, Kandy isone of the most sacred sites as it is the home of the Temple of the SacredTooth Relic of Lord Buddha. RambodaFalls

Rambodawaterfall is not a single waterfall and it has two stairs. The upside of themain road of Ramboda place, there is another waterfall. Most of the touristdismisses the waterfall and they visit upside waterfall and go away. It is 109m (358 ft.) high and has recommended as the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lankaand 729th highest waterfall in the world. It formed by Panna Oya which is atributary of Kothmale Oya.

 

TeaFactory and Tea Plantation

It is not asecret that Nuwara Eliya is the heart of tea industry, where tea bushes coverrolling hills like soft moss and interspersed with Eucalyptus, Albesia andother trees. Tea puckers work on the slopes, butterfly-like in their colorfulsarees. Tea had been one of the main exports in Sri Lanka for by-gone decades.On your way, you will see acres & acres of greenery, tea plantations allaround.

 

NuwaraEliya City Tour

RawanaWaterfall

Locatednear the village of Udunuwara in Ella, Rawana Waterfall is a legendarywaterfall that goes back to the era of Ramayana. This beautiful waterfall islocated just near the Ella – Yala road. Measuring 25 m in height, this cascadingwaterfall is glorious to watch during the rainy season. It is told that KingRavana, kidnapped princess Sita and kept her hidden in a cave located behindthe waterfall.

 

Safari atYala National Park

Half Day Game drive to Yala National Park is a 3 hours game viewing opportunity with Beyond Escapes Safari Team.Yala ishome to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. Among its more famousresidents are the world’s biggest concentration of leopards. Stilt Fishing

Stilt Fishing is an old traditionpracticed few fishing families in Mirissa. The stilts consist of a single poleand crossbar planted out in the sea, on which fishermen perch while castingtheir lines when the currents are flowing in the right direction. Galle Dutch Fort

Galle Fort was built by the Portuguese in 1588,and then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century. It is ahistorical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument, which evenafter more than 423 years maintains a polished appearance, due to extensivereconstruction work was done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. Theheritage value of the fort has been recognized by the UNESCO and the site hasbeen inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 09 Bentota/Beruwala

RiverSafari at Madu Ganga

Located inBalapitiya, Madu Ganga is famous for its unique mangrove vegetation lines andcaves. A relatively unspoiled lagoon, the Madu Ganga estuary is a 915-hectarecomplex coastal wetland ecosystem that opens to the Indian Ocean.  In this boat trip, you can see kraal-fishingconstructions and fishermen making their way in rowing boats to collect theirday's catch. The occasional blue kingfisher flies near the kraal, a pond heronstands tall in the water and other wetland birds are arisen from their slumber.

 

Turtle Hatchery

Kosgoda isfamous for its sea turtle conservation project operated by the Wild LifeProtection Society of Sri Lanka. It was established in 1988 to protect SriLanka’s turtles from extinction. Since then it has released about 3.5 millionbaby turtles into the sea. The hatchery pays fishermen for eggs that theycollect at night along the long sandy beach. The hatchery buries the eggs inthe sand, and when they hatch around 50 days later the baby turtles arereleased into the sea at night.
